The D.J. Bootie

The D.J. Bootie is named in honor of the women who shaped my understanding of craftsmanship in different but equally meaningful ways- my mother, Daphne Jean; her sister Julie; and my aunt Denise. Daphne and Julie expressed creativity through carpentry and painting, valuing structure and function, while Denise worked through care and aesthetics, understanding the importance of comfort, detail, and refinement. While I design rather than handcraft, this boot reflects those shared values: thoughtful structure, quality materials, and attention to how something looks, feels, and lasts. 

The D.J. Bootie offers a slightly roomier fit with a relaxed feel through the foot. In my personal experience, as a true size 11, I found that I could comfortably wear a half size to full size smaller. The leather will naturally soften and stretch with wear, molding to your foot over time. 

Sizing Recommendations:

• If you are between sizes or prefer a more fitted feel, consider sizing down.
• If you prefer a little extra room, your true size should work well. 
• If you have wider feet, we recommend sizing up for the most comfortable fit. 

As with all premium leather boots, a brief break-in period allows for the boot to shape to you- creating that custom, lived-in feel.
